What is the Good Faith Estimate Notice?

Notice to clients and prospective clients:

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

How long are sessions & Do you accept my insurance ?

The initial session takes a bit longer, because I will gather your history. Expect this session to  be up to 90 minutes in duration. After that, each subsequent session will be up to 45-60 minutes in duration based on what your insurance allows.

Aetna
Evernorth (Previously Cigna)
Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP)
Beacon Health Options.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to all potential clients.

This is where we get to meet for the first time. You will have an opportunity to ask me questions and tell me what brings you to therapy. If we both agree I am a good fit for you, I will give you further information on scheduling and completing intake paperwork online.

If I feel that I will not be able to meet your needs, I will offer you a referral for additional services.

How do I set up my first appointment?

Please give me a call at (951) 394-1903, or you can fill out the Contact form at the bottom of this page.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule no later than TWO DAYS in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than TWO DAYS before your scheduled appointment.

You can cancel by text, email, phone, or through the Simple Practice portal.

What do you actually do in counseling?

When my clients start therapy, they are looking for peace and happiness (but just aren’t sure how to make it happen).

Each session is unique to you. There will be times that I just listen. At other times, there will be education or training in areas like problem-solving, effective communication, or calming skills.

Most importantly, I want you to feel free to share whatever is on your mind. By the end of session, I want you to feel like we’ve addressed what’s most important to you at that time. I want you to leave feeling acknowledged, valued, and understood.

Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?

I am a Christian, and many choose to incorporate their spiritual values into therapy, but you certainly don’t have to. Some do not invoke spiritual values at all.

I will follow your lead.

Whatever you decide, one thing is certain: I WILL NOT judge you, preach at you, or use Christian beliefs or values against you.

Which is correct… take a guess!
